The magnetic moments of $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^+$ decuplet baryons have beencalculated in the chiral constituent quark model ($\chi$CQM) with explicitresults for the contribution coming from the valence quark polarizations, seaquark polarizations, and their orbital angular momentum. Since the$J^P=\frac{3}{2}^+$ decuplet baryons have short lifetimes, the experimentalinformation about them is limited. The $\chi$CQM has important implications forchiral symmetry breaking as well as SU(3) symmetry breaking since it works inthe region between the QCD confinement scale and the chiral symmetry breakingscale. The predictions in the model not only give a satisfactory fit whencompared with the experimental data but also show improvement over the othermodels. The effect of the confinement on quark masses has also been discussedin detail and the results of $\chi$CQM are found to improve further with theinclusion of effective quark masses.
