It has recently been suggested that the gravitational dynamics could beobtained by requiring the action to be invariant under diffeomorphismtransformations. We argue that the action constructed in usual way isautomatically diffeomorphism invariant in nature, which thus invalidates thisalternative perspective to obtain gravitational dynamics.
