We examine the possibility of detecting signals of split supersymmetry in theloop-induced decay h --> gamma gamma of the Higgs boson at the Large HadronCollider, where charginos, as surviving light fermions of the supersymmetricspectrum, can contribute in the loop. We perform a detailed study ofuncertainties in various parameters involved in the analysis, and thus the netuncertainty in the standard model prediction of the rate. After a thorough scanof the parameter space, taking all constraints into account, we conclude thatit will be very difficult to infer about split supersymmetry from Higgs signalsalone.Comment: 22 pages, 14eps figures, LateX, Changes in the figures and minor  modifications in the text.
