Branching ratio of $\mu \to \e \gamma$ is evaluated in the supersymmetricSU(5) grand unified theory taking account of higher dimensional operators,which reproduce the realistic quark and lepton masses and the mixingparameters. It is shown by numerical calculation that at large $\tan\beta$ thebranching ratio is enhanced by a few orders of magnitude since the flavormixings for both the left- and the right-handed sleptons are induced by theeffect of the higher dimensional operators.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figure
