We calculate the next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the `direct' partof the spin-dependent cross section for single-inclusive charged-hadronphotoproduction. This process could be studied experimentally in futurepolarized fixed-target lepton-nucleon experiments, but also at the HERA epcollider after an upgrade to both beams being polarized.
