We consider the constraints from proton decay and $b$-$\tau$ unification inthe minimal supersymmetric SU(5) grand unified theory with a `visible'dynamical supersymmetry breaking sector. We show how the presence ofvector-like messenger fields and the constrained superparticle mass spectrumaffect the phenomenology of the model. We include the messenger fields in ourrenormalization group analysis between the messenger scale ($\sim 100$ TeV) andthe GUT scale. We show that the simplest model of this type, a minimal SU(5)GUT with an additional {\bf 5}+\bfbar{5} of messenger fields is excluded by theconstraints from proton decay and $b$-$\tau$ unification.Comment: 15 pp. LaTeX, five figures included as uuencoded, gzipped, tarred  postscript file
