In this paper we study the single spin asymmetry$A_{UT}^{\sin(\phi_h-\phi_S)}$ of a single hadron production in semi-inclusivedeep inelastic scattering (SIDIS) within the framework of transverse momentumdependent (TMD) factorization up to next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL) order ofQCD. The asymmetry is contributed by the convolution of the Sivers function andthe unpolarized fragmentation function. Specifically, the Sivers function inthe coordinate space and perturbative region can be represented as theconvolution of the $C$-coefficients and the corresponding collinear correlationfunctions, among which the Qiu-Sterman function is the most relevant one. Weperform a detailed phenomenological analysis of the Sivers asymmetry at thekinematics of the HERMES and the COMPASS measurements. It is found that theobtained $x_B$-, $z_h$- and $P_{h\perp}$-dependent asymmetries are basicallyconsistent with the HERMES and the COMPASS measurements.
