Two conceptually different hyperspherical harmonics expansions are used forthe calculation of the total 4He photoabsorption cross section. Besides thewell known method of CHH the recently introduced effective interaction approachfor the hyperspherical formalism is applied. Semi-realistic NN potentials areemployed and final state interaction is fully taken into account via theLorentz integral transform method. The results show that the effectiveinteraction leads to a very good convergence, while the correlation methodexhibits a less rapid convergence in the giant dipole resonance region. Therather strong discrepancy with the experimental photodisintegration crosssections is confirmed by the present calculations.Comment: LaTeX, 7 pages, 3 ps figure
