A quantum cluster expansion method is developed for the problem of localizedelectron spin decoherence due to dipolar fluctuations of lattice nuclear spins.At the lowest order it provides a microscopic explanation for the Lorentziandiffusion of Hahn echoes without resorting to any phenomenological Markovianassumption.
