The hysteresis of the Ising model in a spatially homogeneous AC field isstudied using both mean-field calculations and two-dimensional Monte Carlosimulations. The frequency dispersion and the temperature dependence of thehysteresis loop area are studied in relation to the dynamic symmetry loss. Thedynamic mechanisms may be different when the hysteresis loops are symmetric orasymmetric, and they can lead to a double-peak frequency dispersion andqualitatively different temperature dependence.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in Physical Review
