A driven Monte Carlo dynamics is introduced to study resistivity scaling inXY-type models in the phase representation. The method is used to study thephase transition of the three-dimensional XY spin glass with a Gaussiancoupling distribution. We find a phase-coherence transition at finitetemperature in good agreement with recent equilibrium Monte Carlo simulationswhich shows a single (spin and chiral) glass transition. Estimates of thestatic and dynamic critical exponents indicate that the critical behavior is inthe same universality class as the the model with a bimodal couplingdistribution. Relevance of these results for $\pi$-junction superconductors isalso discussed.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, to appear in Phys. Rev.
