An intense laser pulse propagating in a medium of inhomogeneously broadenedquantum dots massively creates entangled exciton states. After passage of thepulse all single-exciton states remain unpopulated (self-induced transparency)whereas biexciton coherence (exciton entanglement) is generated throughtwo-photon transitions.
