The relevance of tunneling two-level systems (TLS) for electron dephasing inmetals is analyzed. We demonstrate that if the concentration of TLS issufficient to cause the observed dephasing rate, one also should expect quitesubstantial effects in the specific heat and ultrasound attenuation.
