The dielectric response in the incommensurate (IC) phase of (${\mathrm{Pb}}_{\mathit{y}}$${\mathrm{Sn}}_{1\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}\mathit{y}}$${)}_{2}$${\mathrm{P}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Se}}_{6}$ solid solutions shows a low-frequency dielectric dispersion (50 Hz--100 kHz) with a sharp decrease in \ensuremath{\epsilon} at low temperatures (T50 K). This dispersion is due to a relaxation of the IC modulation, pinned by the substituting Pb atoms that can be considered as defects, through a series of metastable states. The dispersion has a Debye-like polydispersive character, with an additional low-frequency logarithmic correction related to the frequency dependence of the length scale on which the pinned incommensurations relax.
