There is immense interest in how the local environment influences theelectronic structure of materials at the single layer limit. We characterizemoir\'e induced spatial variations in the electronic structure of in-situ grownmonolayer V2S3 on Au(111) by means of low temperature scanning tunnelingmicroscopy and spectroscopy. We observe a long-range modulation of theintegrated local density of states (LDOS), and quantify this modulation withrespect to the moir\'e superstructure for multiple orientations of themonolayer with respect to the substrate. Scanning tunneling spectroscopyreveals a prominent peak in the LDOS, which is shifted in energy at differentpoints of the moir\'e superstructure. Comparing ab initio calculations withangle-resolved photoemission, we are able to attribute this peak to bands thatexhibit a large out-of-plane d-orbital character. This suggests that themoir\'e driven variations in the measured density of states is driven by aperiodic modulation of the monolayer-substrate hybridization.
