In order to achieve high intensity beams for Fermilab’s Neutrino program, slip stacking is used in the Recycler in which bunches overlap and slip through other bunches multiple times. As the bunch intensity is increased in the future, space charge effects during the overlap periods become more detrimental. In order to investigate the size of these space charge effects, the beam simulation program Synergia, has been extended to allow co-propagation of bunch trains at different momenta.
