We study the dynamics of an optical mode in a cavity with a movable mirrorsubject to quantum Brownian motion. We study the phase noise power spectrum ofthe output light, and we describe the mirror Brownian motion, which isresponsible for the thermal noise contribution, using the quantum Langevinapproach. We show that the standard quantum Langevin equations, supplementedwith the appropriate non-Markovian correlation functions, provide an adequatedescription of Brownian motion.Comment: 11 pages, 2 figures.
