We analyze recently published results about the Aharonov-Bohm effect forbound states from the interaction of the magnetic quadrupole moment of aneutral particle with axial fields. We show that the eigenvalues obtained bythe authors from an arbitrary truncation of the Frobenius power seriescorrespond to more than one model and, consequently, are unsuitable for drawingany sound physical conclusion. Besides, the prediction of allowed oscillatorfrequencies is a mere consequence of the truncation condition just mentioned.
