In this work, we discuss the way in which electric and magnetic dipoleresonances arising in the optical scattering spectrum of non-absorbingdielectric nanospheres can be accurately approximated by means of simpleexplicit expressions that depend on sphere's radius, incident wavelength andrelative refractive index. We find such expressions to hold not only for highbut also for moderate refractive-index values, thus complementing the resultsreported in previous studies.
