Our previous communications on the emission of electrons from the alloy NaK2 under the influence of chemical action dealt with the reactions involving halogen atoms, Cl, Br, and I, and also with a few reactions resulting in the adsorption of oxygen and sulphur atoms. The present paper is devoted to the investigation of some more halogen, oxygen and sulphur compounds, such as ClCN, CH3 Cl, HgBr2 , O3 , and H2 S, and also to the investigation of (OH)2 , (CN)2 , and Hg(CN)2 in order to study the effect of the adsorption of pseudo-haloids, OH and CN. The primary object of these investigations was to obtain information about the magnitude and the energy spectrum of the negative emission, and it was not intended to enter into details in the investigation of the reactions with the gases giving a very small negative emission, such as CH3 C1, (CN)2 , Hg(CN)2 , and H2 S. The experimental data obtained with the latter gases, being of a lesser importance than the others because of the small negative emission, are presented only in a brief form.
