Pulse arrival time measurements over fourteen years with the Nanshan 25-m andParkes 64-m radio telescopes have been used to determine the average profileand timing properties for PSR J1757$-$2421 (B1754$-$24). Analysis of the radioprofile data shows a large variation of spectral index across the profile andan unusual increase in component separation with increasing frequency. Thetiming observations show that PSR B1754$-$24 underwent a large glitch with afractional increase in spin frequency of $\Delta\nu_{\rm g}/\nu\sim7.8\times10^{-6}$ in May 2011. At the time of the glitch there was a largepermanent jump in the rotational frequency accompanied by two exponentialrecovery terms with timescales of 15(6) and 97(15) days, respectively.
