Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is refractory to conventional therapy, including chemotherapy and radiation. However, because RCC is sensitive to cytokine therapy, an immunotherapeutic approach such as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) might lead to a cure.
