Transthoracic oesophagectomy is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Some oesophageal cancer (OC) patients with serious comorbidities cannot tolerate transthoracic oesophagectomy. Therefore, we have adopted a minimally invasive approach to oesophagectomy for such patients.
