Field tests were conducted to determine the relative efficacy and residual life of various treatments of amidinohydrazone baits and Professional Strength Raid (0.95% propoxur) combinations as related to a standard material currently in use for cockroach control. Field tests were conducted in low income housing units located in Indianapolis, Ind. All treatments were randomly assigned to each apartment before inspection. Treatments of Dursban 4E (0.25%) plus Vaponite 2E (0.25%), full bait (4 to 6 baits/100 ft2), 1/2 bait (2 to 3 baits/100 ft2), full bait + spray, and 1/2 bait + spray were applied in a random order. Evaluations of insecticide efficacy and residual life were accomplished by comparing the percent reduction in cockraoch populations over time.
