Thirty Euonymus plants infested with first and second 5tage nymphs were selected for testing. All plants were 6 to B in tall and in 3 in pots. Each plant was randomly assigned to one of six treatments. Scales on each plant were counted before spraying. Materials were applied with a compressed air sprayer until the plants dripped. Ambient temperature at treatment was S7°F. Plants were maintained in a greenhouse for 4 days and scales were rated as dead or alive using a stereomicroscope. Live scales were translucent, green, and responsive to probing and dead scales were brown, shriveled and unresponsive.
