Fall Armyworm and Leafhopper Control in Bermudagrass, 1983

Applications of registerd and experimental insecticides were applied to bermudagrass on the Ben Hur Research Station, Baton Rouge, La. All treatments were applied to 6.1 by 12.2-m plots arranged in a RCB design and replicatd four times. Materials were broadcast sprayed using a CO2-charged backpack sprayer equipped with four 11004 flat-fan nozzles at 22 lb/in2 pressure and 21.1 gal/acre. All treatments were applied on 25 Jul. Treatments were evaluated by taking 10, 180° sweeps using a 38-cm diam sweep net. Samples were taken pretreatment and 1, 3, 6, and 10 days after treatment (DAT). Each 10 sweep composite sample was bagged and frozen for later separation and counting.
