Dekalb BR64 was planted 22 Jul. at the Univ. of Georgia Exp. St., Oconee Co. The soil type was Cecil sandy loam. A randomized complete block design was used with two row plots by 6.5-m long by 1-m row width by 1-m alleys, five replicates. Granules were applied at planting time in a 15-cm band over the row and incorporated in the soil ca. 2 cm deep. Granules were applied in a 15-cm band over emerging seedlings 10 days after planting. All plants in one row of each plot were examined for lesser cornstalk borer damage on 10 Aug. and 18 Aug. Silage yield was determined 108 days after planting by harvesting all plants in one row of each plot.
