Insect Control on Spring Broccoli, 1983

‘Green Comet’ broccoli was transplanted 1 Apr. at the Vegetable Research Station, Bixby, Okla. Plots consisted of three 2-m rows with 0.3 m between plants in a row. Treatments were replicated four times in a randomized complete block design. Treatments were made 20 and 27 May with a CO2 compresssed air sprayer, delivering 30 gal/acre at 30 lb/in. Evaluations were made 19 and 25 May and 2 June by counting larvae on two plants in the center of the middle row of the plot. Rainfall occurred 21 May (1.13 in), 28 May (0.85 in) and 30 May (0.74 in).
