Ectiban ear tapes containing 0.9 g of permethrin each were tested on horses with 2 per halter and with 1 on the forelock and 1 on the tail. 8% cypermethrin plastic strips were tested on horses with 2 per halter, 1 in the forelock, 1 in the tail and 2 in the tail. Percentage reductions were based on pretreatment averages from at least 3 counts made on separate days. All tests were compared to untreated control horses in the same area to determine whether face flies and horn flies were active.
