‘Pioneer 3147’ corn was planted on Jun 15 (experiment I) and 28 (experiment II) at the Highland Rim Experiment Station, Springfield. Plots were 20 ft x 4 rows with 5 ft alleys between blocks. Rows were spaced 40 in apart. Five treatments in each test were replicated 4 times in a randomized complete block design. Corn was thinned to 26 plants/20 row ft. Liquid formulations were sprayed with 2.5 gal compressed air sprayers at 40 gal/acre with portable CO2tanks supplying constant sprayer tank pressure of 30 psi. In the first experiment treatments were applied on Jul 21 when the infestation level was 9.08 larvae/plant, and extended plant height was 46.3 in. In the second experiment the first treatments were applied on Jul 21 when there were 4.22 larvae/plant and extended plant height was 22.5 in. Treatments were applied again on Jul 28. Yield determinations in both tests were made on Oct 27 when moisture levels were 24.35 in the first planting and 30.13% in the second planting.
