‘Russet Burbank’ potatoes were planted Apr 29, at Roswell, ID, in silt loam soil. Granular insecticides were applied in the furrow (RIF) or in the covering soil (SIF) at planting time, or sidedressed (SD) on each side of the row 1-2 inches below the seed pieces at 75% plant emergence. Treatments were replicated in 2-row 30 ft plots with 36 inch row spacing in a randomized complete block design. Numbers of Colorado potato beetles were determined by counting adults and larvae on all plants in each plot. All tubers from each plot were harvested and examined for injuries.
