Temik 15G and Di-Syston 15G were each applied in the furrow, after the planter and before the press wheel, at a rate of 1.0 lb ai/acre, to determine their effects on pest and beneficial arthropods associated with soybean. Insecticides were applied at planting on Jun 5, in ‘Bay’ soybean grown on the Sabine Hall Farm in Richmond Co., VA. A randomized block experimental design was used with 10 replications. Individual plots were 4 rows the length of the field (about 500 ft) spaced 3 ft apart. Each treatment was evaluated on Jul 7 and 20 and Aug 24, by comparing the number of green cloverworms, potato leafhoppers, nabids, geocorids, and spiders per 25 sweeps in each replicate in the treated plots to those in the untreated plots.
