Vegetative plants were grown in an 85°F greenhouse, 3/6-inch pot containing Metro Mix 500 media. All pots were transferred to an insectary colony of green peach aphids and held there until well infested, then returned to the greenhouse. A pretreatment count of all aphids on a 3-shoot sample from each pot was made, and treatments were assigned in such a way as to make the initial infestation levels approximately equal. There were 8 replicate pots/treatment in Test 1, 6 replicates/treatment in Test 2. Spray applications were made to the point of leaf wetness using hand-held mist bottles. Efficacy evaluations were made in the same manner as the pretreatment count at 3 posttreatment intervals.
