Foliar applications of crude neem seed extract and a formulation of neem, Margosan-O (Vikwood Ltd., Sheboygan, WI) were evaluated on chrysanthemums for plant growth responses. Chrysanthemums were grown as single stem disbuds in a commercial greenhouse located in Perry Hall, MD. Cuttings were planted on 10 Sep, disbudded on 26 Nov, and bloomed on 2 Jan. Plants were grown under a long day photoperiod from 10 Sep-23 Oct, and a short day photoperiod from 23 Oct-2 Jan. Plants were fertilized daily with a solution of 20N:20P:20K. Chrysanthemums were treated and sampled (4 plants/plot) biweekly, 6 times during the crop’s cycle. Each treatment plot (2.3 m × 1 m) consisted of 150 plants and plots were randomly arranged in a bed.
