Several materials were evaluated against mites in an apple block at Steeles Tavern. Four, single-tree replicates were used in a randomized complete block design, of the cultivars ‘Delicious’, ‘Golden Delicious’, ‘Stayman’ and ‘York’. Spray dates were 15 May, 31 May, 26 Jun, 31 Jul, 15 Aug and 27 Aug. Applications were made with a truck-mounted Swanson sprayer with a handgun attachment. Unsprayed buffer trees were left between replicates. Mites were evaluated using a leaf-brushing machine and 20 leaves per replicate.
