In patients with non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy (NICM), the mortality benefit of a primary prevention implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) has been challenged. Left ventricular (LV) scar identified by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is associated with a high risk of malignant arrhythmia in NICM.
