Point-of-care testing (POCT) is a subject that, these days, is regularly on the lips of every clinical chemist. Although POCT is today’s reality in many hospitals and physicians’ offices, it is, however, far from being an established practice. Both clinical chemistry and the medical profession are still finding their way toward effective and, in terms of quality, responsible application.
