On 5 Aug, twenty four 3 ft tall burning bush in 3 gal pots were sampled for twospotted spider mites. These container-grown plants were maintained in a nursery holding area at the Entomology Field House on the campus of Michigan State University. The plants were blocked by the precounts taken on 5 Aug. Applications were made on 8 Aug with a R&amp;D CO2 powered single nozzle sprayer. Treatments were applied at 50 psi through an 8008 flat fan nozzle to each of 6 replications. Each replication consisted of an individual potted plant. Each plant received 333 mis of finished spray. In addition to the precounts on 5 Aug, counts were taken on 12 Aug, 22 Aug, 30 Aug, and 6 Sept by removing 10 leaves randomly from each plant and counting the number of mites on the underside of each leaf with a dissecting microscope.
