This test was conducted in a 1-year-old alfalfa stand located at the University of Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station at Rosemount. Plots measuring 20 × 40 ft were replicated 4 times in a RCBD. A single treatment was applied 29 May using a tractor-drawn FMC sprayer with 25-ft boom, delivering 20 gpa at 40 psi. All treatments were applied between 1 100-1300 h; wind speed was ≤6 mph and ambient temperature averaged 70°F. Insect populations were monitored 1 Jun (3 DAT), 5 Jun (7 DAT) and 12 Jun (14 DAT) by taking 10 pendulum sweeps per plot with a 15-in diameter sweep net.
