In 2008 a Starting Grant project supported by the European Research Counciltitled "Nuclear reaction studies relevant to the astrophysical p-processnucleosynthesis" was launched. After five years of successful research relatedto the experimental investigation of proton- and alpha-induced nuclear reactionfor the astrophysical p-process, the project came to an end. In this paper asummary of the research and the most important achievements is given.
