The balance function, which measures the correlation between opposite signcharge pairs, is sensitive to the mechanisms of charge formation and thesubsequent relative diffusion of the balancing charges. The study of thebalance function can provide information about charge creation time as well asthe subsequent collective behavior of particles. In this paper, we present areaction-plane-dependent balance function study for Au+Au collisions at$\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 200 GeV and compare with results from recent threeparticle correlation measurements. We also report balance functions forrelative pseudorapidity ($\Delta \eta$), relative rapidity ($\Delta y$), andrelative azimuthal angle ($\Delta \phi$) from the recent RHIC beam energy scandata.
