Reasonable evaluation of the development potential of power grid is an important guarantee for power planning and investment. In this paper, the evaluation index system of power grid development potential is constructed, and based on the operation status of the existing equipment of the power grid, as well as the operation capacity of incremental equipment after the projects under construction and planning are put into operation, the evaluation model of power grid development potential considering the existing / incremental equipment is constructed. Finally, through the verification of Tianjin Power Grid, the index system and method mentioned in this paper are easy to implement and can evaluate the development potential of power grid comprehensively and accurately.
