Recent numerical results for ionization of quantum dots by periodic electricfield during the electric dipole spin resonance are compared with knownanalytical approaches. It is found that in finite-length quantum wires thenumerical ionization rate is slower than the analytical one, especially for lowdriving field when the confinement potential strongly affects the dynamics.Still, the analytically predicted ionization times are in satisfactorycorrespondence with mean energy threshold times when the energy crosses theborder between localized and continuum states.
