We study $p$-spin glass models on regular random graphs. By analyzing theFranz-Parisi potential with a two-body cavity field approximation under thereplica symmetric ansatz, we obtain a good approximation of the 1RSB transitiontemperature for $p=3$. Our calculation method is much easier than the 1RSBcavity method because the result is obtained by solving self-consistentequations with Newton's method.
