The first law of black hole thermodynamics in the extended phase space isprevailing recently. However, the second law as well as the weak cosmiccensorship conjecture has not been investigated extensively. In this paper, weinvestigate the laws of thermodynamics and the weak cosmic censorshipconjecture of an AdS black hole with a global monopole in the extended phasespace under a charged particle absorption. It is shown that the first law ofthermodynamics is valid, while the second law is violated for the extremal andnear-extremal black holes. Moreover, we find the weak cosmic censorshipconjecture is valid only for the extremal black hole, but is violable for thenear-extremal black hole. It is different from the previous results where thehigh order corrections were neglected.
