We describe duality cascades and their infrared behavior for systems ofD3-branes at singularities given by complex cones over del Pezzo surfaces (andrelated examples), in the presence of fractional branes. From the gauge fieldtheory viewpoint, we show that D3-branes probing the infrared theory have aquantum deformed moduli space, given by a complex deformation of the initialgeometry to a simpler one. This implies that for the dual supergravityviewpoint, the gauge theory strong infrared dynamics smoothes out the nakedsingularities of the recently constructed warped throat solutions with 3-formfluxes, describing the cascading RG flow of the gauge theory. This behaviorthus generalizes the Klebanov-Strassler deformation of the conifold. Wedescribe several explicit examples, including models with several scales ofstrong gauge dynamics. In the regime of widely separated scales, the dualsupergravity solutions should correspond to throats with several radial regionswith different exponential warp factors. These rich throat geometries areexpected to have interesting applications in compactification and modelbuilding. Along our studies, we also construct explicit duality cascades forgauge theories with irrational R-charges, obtained from D-branes probingcomplex cones over dP1 and dP2.Comment: 57 pages, 32 figures. v2: discussion of SPP fixed
