The dependence of the one dimensional Bose-Einstein correlation R_1D derivedfrom proton-proton collisions is examined in terms of energy, hadronmultiplicity and number of emerging hadronic jets. It is argued that theobserved rise of R_1D with energy is the result of the increase of the averagenumber of hadronic jets. It is further shown that by the relativestraightforward measurements of R_1D and its chaoticity parameter $\lambda$ oneshould be able to estimate the average number of outgoing hadronic jets emittedover the entire final state phase space without the necessity to rely on aparticular jet finding algorithm and its associated parameters.
