Effects of electron-electron and spin-orbit interactions on the ground-statemagnetic configuration and on the corresponding thermoelectric and spinthermoelectric properties in zigzag nanoribbons of two-dimensional hexagonalcrystals are analyzed theoretically. Thermoelectric properties of quasi-stablemagnetic states are also considered. Of particular interest is the influence ofCoulomb and spin-orbit interactions on the topological edge states and on thetransition between the topological insulator and conventional gap insulatorstates. It is shown that the interplay of both interactions has also asignificant impact on transport and thermoelectric characteristics of thenanoribbons. The spin-orbit interaction additionally determines an in-planemagnetic easy axis. Thermoelectric properties of the nanoribbons with in-planemagnetic moments are compared with those of the nanoribbons with edge magneticmoments oriented perpendicularly to their plane. Nanoribbons with ferromagneticalignment of the edge moments are shown to reveal spin thermoelectricity, inaddition to the conventional one.
