We study the electrical modulation of the transport properties of siliceneconstrictions with different geometrical structures by adopting thetight-binding model and non-equilibrium Green's function method. The bandstructure and transmission properties are discussed under the influence of theexternal electric field and potential energy. Especially, we investigate theeffects of the position and width of the central scattering region on theconductance with increasing of Fermi energy. We find that the conductancesignificantly depends on the position and the width. Interestingly, thesymmetrical structure of the central region can induce a resonance effect andsignificantly enlarge the system's conductance. Obviously, we obtain aneffective method to adjust the transport property of the siliceneheterojunctions. Correspondingly, we propose a novel two-channel structure withan excellent performance on the conductance compared to the one-channelstructure with the same total width.
