The effects of gravitomagnetic force on plasma oscillations are investigatedusing the kinetic theory of homogeneous electrically neutral plasma in theabsence of external electric or magnetic field. The random phase assumption isemployed neglecting the thermal motion of the electrons with respect to a fixedion background. It is found that the gravitomagnetic force reduces thecharacteristic frequency of the plasma thus enhancing the refractive index ofthe medium. The estimates for the predicted effects are given for a typicalwhite dwarf, pulsar, and neutron star.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figure
